The Magic of Winter
Winter, for me, is a season of self-evaluation—a time to turn inward and reflect. It also embodies hope and resilience. In the Adirondacks, snow blankets the land, transforming the familiar into something entirely new. Trees, heavy with snow, bend under the weight, yet they adapt, reshape, and eventually rebound as it melts. I’m constantly captivated by the shifting light and shadows, the unexpected forms and vibrant colors that emerge throughout the day. Winter energizes my practice; it challenges me to see with fresh eyes and fills me with a renewed sense of possibility. It’s an exciting time to paint—a season that asks me to slow down, observe, and respond with curiosity and care.
